26 Latin American media projects selected to move on to the next phase of Velocidad

We are pleased to present the 26 finalists for the Velocidad Accelerator.

The finalists were chosen from a list of 71 media that progressed from the first phase of the selection process, which attracted more than 350 applications. Finalists were evaluated by an international team of judges, working in cooperation with the Velocidad evaluation committee.

Velocidad seeks to support media in a diverse ecosystem. As a result, the evaluation process included many factors, including the local context where each media project operates, the relevance of its content, the scale of the market, and its place in the region’s media ecosystem. The judges and committee also sought to include a diversity of media from a broad variety of country.

In the final selection process, which will take four weeks, will include interviews with each of the 26 finalists, as well as a review of supporting documents.

Good luck to everyone in the final selection phase!
